In a short summary, throughout my career as a Chief Officer so far: · I have been involved in various operations such as tank cleaning, tank purging, crude oil washing, Ship To Ship cargo transferring and Ice Navigation. · I have led cargo operations such as preparing tanks and loading - discharging clean products, black products, crude oil cargoes, multi-grade cargoes. In many of the afore-mentioned operations, commingling and segregation took place, so my experience in that field is significant as well. · Under my supervision, I have prepared VLCC and Aframax vessels for various Major Oil, USCG and Port State inspections (pertaining but not limited to Paris MOU and Black Sea MOU). In addition, I have supervised preparations for intermediate surveys and dry docking for VLCC and Aframax vessels as well. My sea service as a Chief Officer on board oil product / crude oil tankers so far, sums up to 43 months (pure sea service); in particular: -Aframax vessels: -Suezmax vessels: -VLCC vessels: As a Chief Officer and Head of the Deck department so far, I have been leading a team varying from 20 to 24 persons. I have always pursued the safety of crew as well as the vessel’s, and then the optimal administration and maintenance of the ship. I strongly believe that the key to achieve the above mentioned targets is motivating your crew and showing good judgment in allocation of tasks and responsibilities. In addition to the above, establishing good working relationships with all departments to ensure efficient and smooth conduct of operations on board, is of vital importance.
